…but potty is potty for the both of us right? Does that make sense? Why does then, Lalit Bhanot, the secretary-general of the Delhi organizing committee for the CWG “rejected the poor sanitations conditions complaint terming it as different standards about cleanliness in India and west due to cultural differences”?
There are dogs defecating on the beds at the games village. Does Mr. Bhanot sleep on beds with excreta on them? Probably his dog routinely relieves itself on his bed, obviously, then, sanitary for him is very different from sanitary for you and me.
Oh and yes, there are cultural differences. The whole world is their urinal for most Indian men, in other countries, men actually hold it in, wait till they get to a rest room, like NORMAL human beings, and NOT relieve themselves like cattle, like our men do! (No offense to all you good men who do not indulge in his act!)
This whole CWG issue is making me so mad! Indians pay taxes through their nose, and the government gives us this shame to explain to the whole world? And then there are people who dare to tell us that we should not complain about our own country on social media because the whole world is reading all this! Oh and good man, did you ever pause to think that the BBC website is running front page stories about the CWG situation almost every day? It is like the cat who thinks closing its eyes and drinking the milk means that no one is watching her!
No, really, SOMEONE HAS TO explain why the situation in the Games Village is so bad, why bridges and buildings are collapsing every day, and why the work has not been done yet, while the games are scheduled to begin in a couple of weeks!
Professional event organizers and people with experience of organizing such large-scale events should have been in charge of CWG, not some babus like the utterly useless and spineless animal called Suresh Kalmadi. Seriously, every time I hear what he has to say, I want to rip is head off his body and throw it into the rubble of that collapsed pedestrian bridge. Oh and Bhanot, his head belongs on that bed which he thinks is sanitary! How much shame are these people going to cause our country? I am not ashamed of my country, I am ashamed of these sorry excuses for human beings who say they are ‘optimistic’ about the success of the games. STOP being optimistic, move you behind and GET THE WORK DONE!
PS: I hope Mr. Bhanot has seen this: surely his house is not like this!
Even I am disgusted by the way all this has turned for these games !! I mean, so much money has gone into it, it is a matter of national pride and this is what they have done in the end !!
Yeah I don’t want to associate it with national pride anymore. It is a freakshow conducted by a bunch of thugs!
Well said.It is a matter of national shame to every self respecting Indian. These men ought to be put behind the bars for bringing this on us.
yes they should. But they will appoint a committee which will find some low level contractor responsible and he will be fired and thats it!
Lalit Bhanot’s explanation had me wanting to throw something at him! How on earth could he even come up with such an explanation! And that too when he is supposedly representing his country! I do wonder if any action at all will be taken against people like him, or will all be forgotten and forgiven in a few days time.
Yeah all will be forgotten. I wish there was something we bloggers could do!
cwg is such a disgrace. i hope they fix it. there still is hope.
I have no hope. Even if they are conducted, it will be a hotch potch job, not the world class standard they wanted to portray!
I’ve been fuming for a while over this. If it were in my hands, I’d shoot the people who’ve passed such statements. India would be a better place if these filthy (literally) politicians didnt exist.
Somehow I feel like such things should not be entrusted to the government. It should have been a private enterprise.
Very true Shilpa !! Our corrupt politicians dont fail to target CWG also. Sorry to say, but I feel that we actually should not have taken this responsibilty of international games. They had ample time to organize everything. Now the whole world is watching and we have to bow our head in shame because of these dirty politicians.
We hosted the Asian games in 1982, then the first ever Afro Asian games in 2003 in Hyderabad, and they were also successful. There should have been a good manager, like Chandrababu Naidu!
If it were a cricket event, no stone would’ve been left unturned. More Modis would’ve sprung up.
hi,
I came to your blog through some other blog…
I would put it this way, we should have an organizing committee with some IAS or IPS heading it..not because they are honest or some thing but because some of them have leader ship skills..
There are bunch of people and these bunch of people have no leadership skills… The other day on TV an athlete was commenting that we don’t want kalmadi…she was quoting earlier things too…I ask why now…what were you doing all these days..sleeping…
The basic fault is with us..We react when somethings happen and we leave it after some time…I always remember a dialogue from A wednesday movie…”hum bahut jaldi adjust karlete hai, aur saara problem vahi pe hai”…Even after this much of agony all our atheltes will play there…all the people will go there and see the games…Then how will they ever improve..cause we give them a chance to be taken for granted…

Sorry for taking so much space on your blog..
